Little League Bat Rules
Little League International announced in August 2015 that it would be formally adopting USA Baseball's new standard for bat performance testing. The announcement said, "For more than seventy-five years, Little League has used improvements in science, engineering, and technology to take the sport of baseball to higher levels. By utilizing the most current advancements available, manufacturers can now develop bats with a wood-like performance, which is important for the long-term success of the game." Based on the new bat regulations, the full composite bats and composite-barrel half-and-half bats used prior to 1/1/2018 are now illegal.
As of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard will be implemented. Little League-approved baseball bats that were approved for use for the 2017 season are no longer acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity.
